You got in some Guild Wars between other busy 'life' things. Hopefully you get more time in tomorrow.

Age of Empires (PC)

"Age of Empires was a gorgeous game for its time. Very complex with lots of nuances. Computer was a total bitch to play against though."

Age of Empires II (PC)

"A fun RTS for those with a mind for the historical."

Counterstrike (PC)

"I'm still a newb, but the intensity of encounters, and various weapon combinations make for interesting play. Just don't have time between other titles to pick it up for serious play."

Day of Defeat (PC)

"This is a fun game that I've been getting more and more into lately. The attention to detail is good for its time."

Diablo (PC)

"Dark and twisted, and the ability to overlap spells between classes, this horror-tinged adventure kept my interest long into it's sequel's domination on battle.net."

Diablo II (PC)

"While missing the original's atmosphere, it was still an incredible game."

Server: USWest

Everquest (PC)

"I got lost in the game...no, quite literally, had no flipping clue what to do or where to go. I gave up during my post-purchase trial."

Guild Wars (PC)

"An incredibly broad MMO without the constant bankroll subscription. I love it!"

Guild: Bahamut's Riders of Light

Characters:

Danteus Infernii, Warrior — W/N. Originally developed as a minor messenger character, Danteus was originally intended to forever live as a spirit of Ascalon's past. But then I found a Tapestry Shard...

Jeryhn Aetrus, Paragon — P/W, with the same versatility Madrak enjoys. Battle commander that stands with the front line troops, raising spirits between barking orders. None question his loyalty to king, country, or friend.

Kaos Bloodwind, Dervish — D/N. Drawing strength from the chill of the Underworld, the incarnation of the God of Death comes to draw more souls into His waiting skeletal clutches.

Madrak Aetrus, Ranger — Primary Character, R/W. I play a variety of roles, depending on situation. I love the versatility of switching between melee and ranged combat. I've even replaced the normal warrior tanks once.

Ordrak Arakeen, Elementalist — E/N (just for flavor). Ordrak's a fire specialist, and through his hobbies has become a fine culinary expert. Roast Charr anyone?

Roric Arakeen, Monk — Mo/Me. A gentle soul, prefering to aid than attack directly, but is certainly capable of calling divine wrath. Undead foes quickly learn of his hatred of their kind.

Shin Jin Qian, Mesmer — Me/Rt out of Cantha. A lockdown specialist. Not very well developed outside of stats however.

Zul Jhien Yamagami, Assassin — A/R, poison specialist. Strikes hard on his mark, then lets the poison do most of the work. Quick, dirty, efficient, deadly.

Guild Wars 2 (PC)

"The more I hear, the more I like it."

Guild: Bahamut's Riders of Light

Half-Life (PC)

"The first FPS I could really sink my teeth into. Great AI and horror-tinged storyline kept my interest."

Hellgate: London (PC)

"I found this game a sublime mix of Doom and Diablo. I'm enjoying it."

Server: US

Guild: United Legit Gaming Guilds

Characters:

DrakeReynolds, — Lv. 6 Marksman

MapleStory (PC)

"The old school platform feel of this game keeps drawing me back. The game is more geared toward the social crowd, the makers hoping that all the social options will drown out the constant grind."

Server: Windia

Characters:

JanusAetrus, — Warrior, forget level offhand. Probably my favorite character, being able to get up close and personal.

Marathon Trilogy

"Oh lord, I just discovered that Bungie released this incredible game series as open source! Ah, takes me back..."

Rappelz

"Not bad for free."

Server: Tortus

Guild: Draconian Empire

Characters:

Jeryhn, — Jeryhn (yes, named after D2's sheik of Lut Gholein) is a Holy Warrior, just starting his career.

Ordrak, — A Dark Magician of considerable power. Well, at least the class is close enough to the real character's concept.

StarCraft (PC)

"An incredible RTS game. Good story, excellent multiplayer, 3 unique, well balanced races...Starcraft set the gold standard of RTS gameplay."

Half-Life: Team Fortress (PC)

"I really have fun with this one, though my skill level dwarfs many of the newer crowd with more time on their hands. I play defense whenever possible, as HW, Engie, or rarely as Sniper."

Unreal Tournament (PC)

"I just discovered this little treat. For a shooter developed primarily for multiplayer, there's a depth not seen in other games of its ilk."

Characters:

Cpt_Idiocy, — I'm just out to have fun. So I'm a newb...kill me.

Warcraft II (PC-MAC)

"This is one of those gamer golden oldies. :)"

WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos (PC-MAC)

"It was fun at first, but loses potency in multiplayer. Hero development drags down an otherwise good RTS."

Q. Do you use voice chat? (Answer!)
A. Yes, and I have a microphone

Q. How do you feel about selling virtual items for real money? (Do NOT advertise RMT services!) (Answer!)
A. Pathetic waste of real money. Imagine what you can do with real money. Buy food and clothing. Help people in need. Pay your rent/mortgage! Go to college!

Seriously, there's better use than to buy items for your fake persona online.

Q. Why do you join guilds or clans? (Answer!)
A. For fun, camaraderie, and a sense of being a larger part of whatever activity a guild engages in.

Q. If you could meet any game developer, who would it be? (Answer!)
A. Either Jeff Strain of ArenaNet or Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo.

Q. Ninjas or pirates? (Answer!)
A. I prefer to rise above such debates

Q. How many hours a week do you play? (Answer!)
A. 5-10

Q. In real life, are you male or female? (Answer!)
A. Male

Q. Where did you get your gaming names from? (Answer!)
A. From a mix of sources. There's too many to mention. Mostly from imagination.

Q. What is your first computer or video gaming memory? (Answer!)
A. Playing Donkey Kong on an Atari 2600 for hours at a time. I was 5 then. :)

Q. How do you feel about playing characters of the opposite sex? (Answer!)
A. Honestly, I have a problem with playing female characters. Just doesn't feel right. I've met others that do however, and enjoy it thoroughly. I simply don't.

Q. When you are not playing games, what do you do for fun? (Answer!)
A. Fencing, archery, and tinkering with computer hardware.

Q. What music do you like to play games to? (Answer!)
A. Usually what the game plays, as it oftimes fits the bill.

Q. Are you interested in working within the game industry? (Answer!)
A. I do have an interest in entering the field of game design. MMO developers wouldn't be a first choice, but I'd be open to suggestion. More than likely, however, I'll be working as a tech support man. Never know where that'll take me though. :)

Q. What do you love or hate about PVP? (Answer!)
A. While not my major focus, I enjoy the competitive aspect of PvP combat. Nothing says "I'm good" like a good, hard-won match against players of equal skill. Occasionally you encounter a very fierce competitor with good sportsmanship. When your opponent acknowledges your skill, it's quite a boost to one's confidence, both in and out of PvP.

I dislike, however, the trash talk that occurs in many public venues. Hmm...on the other hand, smacking around trash-talking players is quite vilifying and satisfying.

Q. What sort of tools (calculators, builders, spreadsheets, etc.) do you use to plan your characters? (Answer!)
A. I very rarely use HTML-based builders. I prefer a trial-and-error approach.

Q. What mods do you play with? (Answer!)
A. Absolutely none. I tend toward the purist camp in that regard.

Q. What do your characters and avatars usually look like? (Answer!)
A. I use a wide range of appearances, depending on class and origin. Most of my characters though are, or appear to be of European descent.

Q. What is the most overlooked or misunderstood game? (Answer!)
A. Nox by Westwood Studios. It's a brilliantly done Diablo knock-off with some exceptional gameplay and graphics, and an innovative line-of-sight technology.

Q. Have you ever had a memorable real-life meeting with other gamers? (Answer!)
A. Almost had the chance to meet someone in Corvallis who was with my gaming guild at the time. Oh well, one of my current guildmates now lives nearby.

Q. What sort of players annoy you the most? (Answer!)
A. Trash-talking yuppies, spamming morons, trainer babies, and bot users. The whole lot of them make me want to hurl.

Q. What are your thoughts on roleplaying in games? (Answer!)
A. As long as the maturity factor is there, and it's not sexually related, I'm for it. It can add a level of depth that can't be found with the interface alone.

Q. What experience do you have beta-testing games? (Answer!)
A. Absolute zero XP.

Q. If you could bring any book, movie or comic to life in a game, which would you choose? (Answer!)
A. That's a toughie...I suppose it'd be this new book series I encountered called "Ranger's Apprentice." Good opportunities for a stealth thriller in a medieval environment. The author, John Flanagan, has developed a healthy amount of lore that's rich in adventure.

Q. When do you play, including timezone? (Answer!)
A. I play on Pacific time, but have no set times that I play.

Q. Do you feel relationships within games are meaningful? (Answer!)
A. Friendships can transcend the medium used to communicate. A certain maturity level must exist first before any meaningful communication can take place. Once you reach that point, then yes, such a relationship is possible.

I have trouble swallowing the idea of a romantic relationship, however. It happens, but I have difficulty with the concept.

Q. Have you ever had a romantic encounter with someone you met in a game? (Answer!)
A. No. Absolutely not. My wife would kill me, and then she'd hunt down and kill the other woman. And I don't mean in game.

Q. What are your thoughts on player-made mods/addons for games? (Answer!)
A. If sanctioned by the original developer, then a mod can be a nice way to spice things up, or make things more convenient. Just look at the huge number of Starcraft/Warcraft III maps, weapon/player skin mods for various FPS games, and the interface overlays for WoW.

Again though, I'm part of the purist camp, and prefer default interfaces. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy TFC or CS though.

Q. Other than your console or PC, what is the piece of hardware you can't live without? (Answer!)
A. Is furniture considered hardware? If so, a comfortable place to park my sorry hide during those now-rare marathon gaming sessions.

Q. Do your quiz results on GamerDNA reflect your personality, and if not, what did it get wrong? (Answer!)
A. It's pretty accurate. Not a total measure, but everything stated was applicable.

Q. What are your favorite tabletop (RPG, board, miniatures, etc.) games? (Answer!)
A. I used to enjoy HeroQuest, but it fell out of favor after completing the first quest book. I also got into the Palladium RPG series and D&D, but couldn't find fellow players. I played some M:TG, but it became too big a money sink, and I couldn't handle the overinflated egos of the little brats that play now.

So, I don't play many tabletop games anymore, except for the rare kiddie game or chess match with my daughter.

Q. What are the proper uses of tank guns and bubblegum? (Answer!)
A. That would depend.

If you're under attack by a tank battalion, and all you have is gum, better hope you can get up close to plug the main cannons with those huge wads you and your buddies are working on.

If you are the one leading the tank battalion...well, I feel sorry for you already. Ever have a tank shell explode in the cabin? Wanna see it firsthand?

Q. What are the specs on your gaming rig? (Answer!)
A. It's an HP Laptop.

WinXP Media Center
1.8GHz AMD Turion64
128MB ATI Radeon Xpress 200M
1.25GB RAM (upgraded from 256MB)
80GB HDD
Built-in Wireless NIC and Wired NIC
17" Widescreen Display, with ports for second monitor/TV
Full 104-key keyboard
Kensington Pocket Mouse
Built-in Altec Lansing speakers
Ideazon Fang Gamepad (Optional)
Altec Lansing Headset (Optional)
